Now Hiring for the 2025-2026 school year with a tentative start date for selected candidates at the end of August/early September.

SUMMARY:

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position is a field employee position providing one-to-one and small group academic support and behavioral interventions to students in a school setting within William Penn School District. We specialize in serving children primarily diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as other special needs diagnoses.

  • Generous hourly starting pay rate of $20 per hour (w2 employment)

SCHEDULE:

  • PCAs will work on all student days, full day, during the school calendar year
  • General school hours approximately: 7:30am - 2:30pm (secondary) or 8:30am - 3:30pm (elementary)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with disabilities, helping them participate in classroom activities, manage behavioral interventions, manage personal care, and access to educational environment as it aligns with the student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
  • Implement timely interventions focusing on behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and enhancing peer interaction skills, according to the goals outlined in the IEP or positive behavioral support plan set by Special Education team.
  • Gather daily data and maintain progress notes in the designated format for each session with the child or adolescent.
  • Offer direct assistance to students to fulfill their academic, social, emotional, and/or personal care requirements.

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma OR equivalency
  • Experience working with school aged children - preferred
  • Experience with autism and / or other special needs - preferred

CREDENTIALING REQUIREMENTS:

(Clearances within 12 months)

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI
  • TB Screening (within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
