Position Summary

Responsible for the overall financial administration of Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. Provide leadership for strategic initiatives, business planning, accounting, and budgeting. Advise senior management regarding methods to improve operating performance.

Responsibilities


  • Monitor, interpret, and analyze financial and statistical data to achieve established plans and objectives. Monitor and evaluate the impact of trends and regulatory changes.
  • Consult and advise senior management on the financial impact of proposed new businesses, major equipment acquisitions, remodeling, construction, and impending changes in reimbursement/payment systems.
  • Plan and coordinate preparation of the annual operating budget, capital budget, and the financial elements of the strategic and financial plan.
  • Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
  • Oversee revenue cycle functions. Assure appropriate reimbursement through the cost reporting process, DRG assignment, and collection activities.
  • Review, evaluate, and negotiate third?party contracts. Recommend and evaluate charge structures for the system.
  • In conjunction with senior management, establish and implement a corporate compliance program.
  • Prepare and ensure timely filing of federal, state, third?party, and other financial reports as required.


Job Specifications

Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration or Financial Management or related field with at least 5 years experience in hospital finance at a management level or a Bachelor's degree with 10 years of executive management experience.
