Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Stepdown position in an acute care setting with IL RN license and night shift availability required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in the Tele Intermediate Stepdown unit within an acute care hospital
• Unit has 26 beds and a patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
• Shift is 12 hours, nights (1900-0730), with every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and every other holiday required
• Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
• Central telemetry monitoring with tech support
• No vents; use of Bipap, Cpap, and high-flow/Vapotherm
• Epic EMR is used; previous Epic experience preferred
• Travelers may be required to float, maintaining the same patient ratios
• Nursing does not mix medications; 24/7 pharmacy and RT support available
• Charge nurses take patients, and tech ratio is 1:9
• No specific scrub color required; may wear own scrubs
• Hospital and unit orientation provided over three shifts (one day, two nights)
• Local candidates within 50 miles are eligible but subject to a local pay rate
• No block scheduling guaranteed, but consecutive night shifts will be accommodated when possible

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active IL RN license is required at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry or stepdown RN experience
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic EMR charting experience preferred
• Must provide COVID vaccination record if applicable
• Must pass a comprehensive drug screen required for employment
