Job Description
\nWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Advocate Condell Medical Center. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of comprehensive experience managing patients across the full lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

\n\n

This role requires expertise in advanced respiratory procedures and critical care practices, including tracheostomy care, nitrous oxide procedures, proning techniques, ECMO management, and ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention. Candidates should be proficient in spontaneous breathing trials, ABG (arterial blood gas) draws, and have experience working with ventilators in intensive care settings.

The position involves maintaining a 1:1 patient ratio, providing high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced environment. EPIC electronic health record system experience is preferred.

\n\n

Candidates must adhere to dress code requirements, wearing charcoal gray scrubs, and enjoy the convenience of free parking at the facility.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience with patients of all ages (pediatrics to geriatrics).\n\t
  • Active Illinois State Respiratory Therapist license.\n\t
  • Valid BLS and ACLS certification from AHA.\n\t
  • Additional certifications such as PALS, NRP, and RRT (or CRT) are strongly preferred.\n\t
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in advanced respiratory procedures: trach care, nitrous oxide delivery, proning, ECMO, and ventilator management.\n\t
  • Critical care experience, particularly in managing ventilator-associated pneumonia and conducting spontaneous breathing trials.\n\t
  • Strong understanding of ABG analysis and interpretation.\n\t
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations with a 1:1 patient ratio.\n\t
  • Professional appearance in charcoal gray scrubs.\n
