Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Test Technician for our client in San Jose. This is a temp to hire position. Hours are Monday - Friday 5:00 am - 1:30 pm. Pay rate is $30 - $35/hour.
Functions & Responsibilities:
* Conduct Hi-Pot (High Potential) testing to ensure electrical insulation integrity.
* Set up, operate, and maintain Hi-Pot testing equipment.
* Analyze test results, document findings, and report discrepancies.
* Troubleshoot electrical components and systems to identify faults.
* Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to refine testing procedures.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
* Assist in developing and improving test protocols.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Hi-Pot testing in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
* Education: Associate's degree Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols and insulation testing principles.
* Proficiency in using testing and measurement equipment.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Detail oriented and strong work ethic.
* Experience using Microsoft office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
* Must have the flexibility to work morning and swing shifts
Organizational Relationships:
* This person will report directly to their Quality Supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
* Must be able to stand for a long period of time.
* Must be able to work with hands doing repeated actions.
* Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
Schedule:
* 8 hour shifts: Morning shift schedule 5am to 1:30pm and swing shift 1:30pm to 10pm
* Possible weekday and Saturday overtime.
