In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide **LEAP Internship & Co-op Program** , where you will **L** earn, **E** ngage, **A** pply, and **P** rogress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.
**The Opportunity**
BAE Systems is seeking a full-time Systems Engineering Intern to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. The candidate will support management of requirements for our Systems Engineering team as it incorporates Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies to support the US/UK TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Weapon System (SWS) program. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, good at planning, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position is responsible for working closely with numerous engineering teams supporting the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) office, specifically performing the following functions:
+ Manage system-level requirements modules in DOORS
+ Deriving requirements from parent and reference specifications
+ Managing allocations of requirements to subsystems
+ Performing impact and traceability assessments including suggested corrective actions
+ Leveraging DOORS Extension Language activities

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Enrolled student at an accredited 4-year college / university having completed a minimum of two years (Sophomore) towards a Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Scientific degree with suitable engineering content
+ Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant field of specialization
+ Ability to work well with cross-functional teams
+ Demonstrated self-starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with others
+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, etc.)
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Experience with DOORS, MATLAB, CREO, and/or MagicDraw
+ Experience modeling systems
+ Familiarity with:
+ SysML
+ System requirement statement patterns
+ System requirement verification strategies and methodologies
+ Agile methodology
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $48620 - $67640
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
