Description

The Seasonal Nurse will assist in facilitating medically-sound and safe camping experiences for children living with serious and chronic illness. The nurse will provide clinical nursing care to campers and participate in emergency medical cares as needed for other camp.

Responsibilities:

• Contract dates: May 18, 2025 - July 27, 2025
• Provide direct medical care for campers and emergency cares in collaboration) with camp physicians
• Manage medical care details of assigned camper group each session - this includes pre-camp preparation, arrival day check-in/departure day check-out with camper families, daily med administration, medical safety coverage in high-risk activity areas, clinical desk coverage for walk-in cares/needs
• Preparation, administration and documentation of medication distribution in accordance with physician orders
• Lead weekly medical orientation for volunteers
• Manage assigned administrative duties pre, during, and post camp sessions
• Fill role on the emergency staffing table as needed
• Participate in daily medical rounds with clinical staff

Requirements

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Valid and unencumbered Ohio or Impact State registered nursing license; valid BLS
• Familiarity and comfort with pediatric clinical care and ability to act as a medical resource
• Professionalism and confidentiality in all communication and adhere to all policies
• Empathetic and caring communication with campers and families
• Ability to live on site (housing and meals provided during sessions)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to facilitate the best outcomes possible
• Ability to work closely with others to ensure a safe environment for all

Preferred Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
PALS or ACLS certified
Experience in clinical pediatric or medical camp
Valid Driver's License

Salary Description


$20,000 ($2000/week)
