You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects. **District Overview** Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs, and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. With top-notch health benefits, a wealth-building 401k plan, and unbeatable growth opportunities, by joining Kiewit, you're ensuring a lifetime of success. **Location** This position will be based out of our New York, NY office. **Responsibilities** + Contribute to engineering and CADD teams in developing preliminary and final plans and details + Identify and understand the technical requirements of high-risk projects and implement engineering principles to develop solutions + Identify, interpret, and apply appropriate design standards and codes; ensure compliance with contract documents + Participate in technical meetings and discussions, and strategize solutions to complex or unique technical problems + Identify and implement new technologies that provide a competitive advantage + Identify technical differentiators and develop schemes for key project pursuits + Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Kiewit and/or project-specific Quality Management plans. **Qualifications** + Master's degree or greater in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering + 0-2 years experience in relevant structural engineering design + 0-2 years experience in engineering plan production and preparation of engineering calculations, be highly technically competent and familiar with current tools/programs/software, and CADD production practice + Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles + Experience with the design of multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, and knowledge of staged construction analysis + Preferred experience with engineering design software, i.e. programs such as LUSAS, SOFiSTiK, MIDAS, etc. + Experience with AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI, CAN/CSA S-6, and other North American design codes + Excellent communication skills, both oral and written + Strong people skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment + Ability to travel as business requires Other Requirements: - Regular, reliable attendance - Work productively and meet deadlines timely - Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment - Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. - Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
