Senior UX Researcher

Join the Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Experience Design team (AFT-XD). We are seeking a Senior UX Researcher who is passionate about the intersection of the physical and virtual worlds, reaching beyond what is shown on a screen to include the physical environment, building layout, equipment, work processes anything and everything that impacts how work inside our fulfillment centers gets done.

Key job responsibilities include being a problem-solver, self-learner, and self-starter who looks around corners to identify user problems and needs, proactively initiates the research process, delivers high quality research plans and actionable insights, and influences stakeholders to positively impact experiences within Amazon's global fulfillment network. As the user research lead within AFT-XD, you'll define and build AFT's global research discipline while mentoring researchers, designers, and team members in methodologies and best practices. You'll foster cross-team collaboration across countries to elevate research standards and improve fulfillment center operations. Working with cross-functional teams of designers, product managers, and engineers, you'll identify research topics, build research roadmaps, and execute both formative and evaluative studies using diverse methods. Your role includes communicating insights and recommendations while advocating for users to ultimately enhance the experience of fulfillment center associates and operators to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Basic qualifications include:

• 5+ years of proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact experience
• 5+ years of hands-on work with: field research, ethnography, lab-based user testing, remote testing, paper prototype testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, and survey design experience
• Bachelor's degree in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field
• Experience in leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact
• Experience with field research, ethnography, lab-based user testing, remote testing, paper prototype testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, and survey design
• Experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting)
• Experience with behavioral data collection, quantitative data analysis, and statistics
• Have a portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas)

Preferred qualifications include:

• Master's degree in Human Factors, HCDE, Cognitive Psychology or equivalent
• Experience in a technical field (software development, network development, IT, other related)
• Experience with UX Research in non-US markets
• Experience working in a highly Agile/Scrum environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
