Overview Sr Manager of Software Engineering - Encompass Administrator at JPMorgan Chase (Home Lending). As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you will provide technical coaching and guidance to multiple teams, anticipate dependencies across functions, and lead initiatives to advance financial technologies. Responsibilities Proven track record in supporting mortgage operations by enhancing workflow efficiency, ensuring compliance, and managing system integrations. Provide guidance to the immediate team of software engineers and system analysts on daily tasks and activities. Ensure optimal performance of Home Lending systems to improve productivity and maintain regulatory compliance. Design and maintain custom input forms, business rules, field triggers, loan programs, and personas to streamline lending workflows. Support system upgrades, testing, and change management, ensuring minimal disruption during releases. Set overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration. Provide direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers working on basic to moderately complex tasks. Be accountable for decisions affecting resources, budgets, tactical operations, and the execution of processes and procedures. Identify and mitigate issues to execute the book of work, escalating as necessary and ensuring collaboration across teams and stakeholders. Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality. Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritize diverse representation. Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience; 2+ years leading technologists to solve complex technical items within the domain. 7+ years of hands-on experience configuring, customizing, and maintaining the Encompass LOS platform to support retail, wholesale, and correspondent lending channels. Familiarity with API calls, Encompass plugins, OOP framework, and GitHub. Experience with JavaScript in the context of Encompass Web. Experience in writing and maintaining REST/SOAP APIs. Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, or configuration-as-code practices. Experience leading teams of technologists; ability to guide and coach teams toward strategic goals. Experience with talent hiring, development, and recognition. In-depth knowledge of the services industry and its IT systems. Practical cloud-native experience. Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills Experience balancing hands-on work (approximately 30%) with managerial responsibilities (70%), with flexibility as activities change.
