Role : Senior Program Manager - IT Duration : 9 month Contract To Hire Location : Remote in the US, Travel Required every 8 weeks to Chicago, IL Program Context Our client is the premier global claims and risk management partner for people and companies who seek comprehensive solutions to prevent, manage and overcome the impact of risk. They deliver a broad range of solutions, across multiple industries serving a broad and diverse set of customers including Carriers and Brokers. Given the complexity of their service environment, Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a crucial enabling technology to support not only security but efficiency and effectiveness. They are ready to determine the most effective implementation strategy, approach, plan and schedule. Such efforts require strong, experienced program and project leadership, working across a multitude of teams (e.g. Leadership, operations, product, technology, operations, finance) and an ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders, set priorities, and drive accountability. Candidate Requirements The candidate is being engaged to provide senior program management and advisory services for the duration of the program. The candidate must have general management experience, as the program’s far-reaching scope demands engagement with IT and the business. In addition to the candidate’s IT experience, the candidate must have experience managing non-IT projects for large corporations and will be expected to detail these experiences. The candidate will be responsible for synthesizing necessary business strategy for a specified effort into an IT strategy to deliver program scope with an executable plan. The plan will be scoped with enough detail to layout definitive timelines and a derived budget. Candidate will lead teams, provide project direction, and control of all information systems and technology activities within the architecture portfolio. Candidate will manage a mid-sized team consisting of lower-level Managers and seasoned Professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. Tactical responsibilities typically include: # Liaising with other leaders and stakeholders within IT and throughout the business to consistently create alignment to the success factors of the program. Goals will be to effectively and with the right frequency provide transparency as to the health of the effort as well as effectively engage leadership in a timely fashion to remove roadblocks and mitigate risks # Handling / resolving risks & issues that are difficult and moderately complex and appropriately escalating to leadership as necessary # Implementing IT function (ex. Data Analytics, IT Architecture, etc.) and Division policies and strategies for short-term results (1 year or less). # Influencing others outside of own function or division regarding IT policies, practices and procedures Qualifications/Skills: # Decades of senior management experience # Top flight MBA, obtained no later than 2015 # Managed qualified projects in Insurance, Financial Services, or Healthcare industry verticals for at least 10 years # At least 10 years experience in both consulting and industry, respectively # Managed Programs and Projects outside of IT as well as inside IT EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
