Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation and assign appropriate codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)

• Submit and monitor insurance claims for accuracy and timely reimbursement

• Research and resolve denied or rejected claims

• Post payments, reconcile accounts, and maintain billing records

• Communicate with patients, providers, and insurers professionally

• Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Certification or associate degree in medical billing/coding preferred

• Entry-level candidates are welcome; training provided for motivated learners

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency with computers and billing software a plus

Typical Workday

A typical day includes reviewing patient charts, coding encounters, submitting claims, following up on denials, and joining virtual check-ins with your team lead. You’ll balance independent focus work with team collaboration.
