At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in San Pedro, CA ! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in San Pedro, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in San Pedro, CA
• Schedule: 4pm onwards, once a week
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
• Focus Area: Foundational Literacy, Writing, Math, Communication

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with students with autism in inclusive or special education environments
• Background in special education or related services; Special Education credential preferred
• Skilled in using visual supports, structured routines, and multi-sensory instruction
• Able to creatively integrate student interests (e.g., drawing, video games, jiu-jitsu) to increase engagement
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with families
• Patient, encouraging, and consistent in supporting both academic and emotional needs
• Female tutor preferred based on student comfort and family request

Key Responsibilities:

• Support foundational literacy (reading and basic writing) and early math skills
• Help develop expressive communication through casual conversation and targeted SEL strategies
• Incorporate short conversational breaks to build trust and encourage emotional expression
• Use positive reinforcement and simple reward systems to maintain motivation
• Adapt instruction to align with IEP goals and current therapy supports
• Engage student through interests to make learning enjoyable
