Responsibilities:

  1. Painting Execution: Perform a wide range of painting tasks, including surface preparation, priming, painting, and finishing. Apply paint and coatings using brushes, rollers, and sprayers, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
  2. Color Selection and Mixing: Collaborate with clients, interior designers, or project managers to assist in color selection and paint mixing, considering factors such as lighting, environment, and aesthetics to achieve desired outcomes.
  3. Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and repairing walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other areas as required. Fill cracks, holes, and defects using appropriate materials to ensure a smooth and even finish.
  4. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while working on various job sites. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members. Follow proper handling and disposal procedures for paint, solvents, and related materials.
  5. Material and Equipment Management: Assist in the procurement, organization, and maintenance of painting supplies, tools, and equipment. Ensure their proper use, storage, and upkeep to optimize performance and longevity.
  6. Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other team members, including painters, contractors, and project managers, to ensure seamless coordination and timely completion of projects. Communicate progress, challenges, and suggestions to the project lead or supervisor.
  7. Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets established standards, deadlines and client specifications. Make necessary touch-ups, corrections, or improvements as required.
  8. Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or questions related to the painting process.

Requirements:

  1. For Journeyman Status: Possess a valid journeyman painting certification or equivalent qualification.
  2. Experience: Have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a professional painter, with a proven track record of successfully completing painting projects in various settings.
  3. Knowledge: Possess comprehensive knowledge of different painting techniques, surface preparation methods, and various types of paints, primers, and coatings. Familiarity with color theory, mixing ratios, and application tools is essential.
  4. Attention to Detail: Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship to ensure precise execution of painting tasks, resulting in high-quality finishes.
  5. Safety Consciousness: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of PPE and safe handling of painting materials.
  6. Physical Stamina: Possess the physical ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Comfort working at heights may be required.
  7. Team Player: Work well as part of a team, cooperating and communicating effectively to achieve project goals.
  8. Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with clients, team members, and supervisors.
  9. Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  10. Flexibility: Adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and work environments as dictated by project requirements.
