Maintenance Manager

The Role:

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to work on an offshore asset 50% of the time, with the remaining 50% at office locations in Mexico City or Houston.

As the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key leadership role, fostering a culture of safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture to ensure zero harm to people, assets, and the environment.
  • Contribute to site leadership and develop strategies for safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to optimize uptime.
  • Ensure reliability and availability of critical equipment, including compressors, pumps, turbines, heat exchangers, and cryogenic systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and regulatory standards.
  • Drive adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, including API, NFPA, OSHA, and ISO standards.
  • Manage the maintenance department's budget, including capital and operational expenditures.
  • Oversee vendor contracts and relationships to ensure quality service and cost efficiency.
  • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to monitor asset performance and maintenance activities.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, predict failures, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute contingency plans to minimize operational disruptions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in the oil & gas, LNG, refinery, or power generation industries, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in maintaining cryogenic systems, rotating equipment, and LNG-specific technologies.
  • Proficiency with maintenance planning tools and CMMS software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems in LNG operations.
  • Familiarity with HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and safety management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Offshore work availability (50%) on FLNG facilities.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams, including contractors and craft personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety practices in maintenance execution.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance techniques and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with power management, process control, and fixed/rotating mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards for offshore facilities is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Experience with CMMS implementation and ensuring high compliance with maintenance schedules.

Work Conditions:

  • Requires physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Work includes indoor and outdoor conditions, exposure to weather, ocean environments, and noise.
  • Ability to board vessels, climb tanks (200+ steps), and work at heights.
  • Requires passing regular physical examinations and obtaining certifications in first aid, CPR, AED, and LNG firefighting.
