Job Description

The Sustainability Data Solutions Manager will lead development and implementation of our sustainability software solutions portfolio in collaboration with the team. The Sustainability Data Solutions Manager also plays a key role in development and ongoing support of data analytics and insights product and service offerings. Primary areas of responsibility for the position include ongoing oversight of the Sustainability Management Information System (Sustainability MIS) product, development and implementation of sustainability dashboard metrics solutions and visualization, as well as support for professional services projects as needed. The Sustainability Data Solutions Manager is a key member in ensuring success of sustainability software services, data analytics, and consulting.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Responsible for defining client service standards, implementing customer support programs, monitoring the satisfaction of software users, and looking for opportunities to continuously improve processes and systems.

· Responsible for project management for agriculture related software solutions, data collection and analysis, business system analysis, and related agri-food projects and grants.

· Track, manage, and report project milestones and client reported issues.

· Communicate status, issues, and risks to project stakeholders.

· Create new software specifications for the Sustainability MIS platform, dashboard, or external software product through dialog with clients and/or SH staff suitable for sales, client, and external or internal development teams.

· Work collaboratively with clients to understand sustainability software needs and ensure that proposed implementation approach will meet those needs.

· QA/QC and testing for new sustainability software solutions and functionality.

· Define and establish customer implementation, training and support policy, methods, measures, and tools for sustainability platforms.

· Coordinate with team to provide customer support.

· Identify opportunities, develop expertise, and pursue approval in providing external third-party sustainability software solutions.

· Support development and implementation of sustainability data metrics and dashboard using Business Intelligence (BI) Tools.

· Perform professional services including advisory, extension and outreach work as needed.

· Support proposal development, including review of project scope, budget, and timelines as needed.

· May attend conferences, presentations, grower workshops, and sales support as needed.

· Serve as backup to Farming MIS as needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

· Advanced degree in natural or social sciences, business, public administration or related. Graduate degree (Masters or PhD) required or equivalent experience.

· 3+ years’ experience relevant to agri-food systems and sustainability programs applicable to the agri-food industry.

· 2+ years’ experience in design, development and/or support of agri-food systems or sustainability information technologies and software solutions.

· Exceptional communication, technical documentation, professional presentation, collaboration, interpersonal and influencing skills.

· Flexibility, focus and resilience in the face of high workload and competing demands.

· Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to uncover and interpret client needs for effective solutions.

· Results-driven, strong attention to detail.

· Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint), Salesforce, and other business software applications.

· Experience with data analysis and statistics.

· Experience with budget tracking, project management and issue tracking systems.

· Experience and proven ability to organize, track and follow up on multiple projects.

Working Conditions:  

· Some travel required (~10%)
