This position is for a full-time Maintenance Tech I to work in a 80-unit multi-family affordable housing community in Waipahu, HI. This is a CDBG property. Qualified candidates must have 1+ year of related apartment maintenance experience, knowledge and skills in plumbing, electrical and general maintenance. Must have a CADL, clean DMV record and reliable transportation. Must have basic computer knowledge. Salary range: $19.00 - $28.50 per hour; hiring range for new employees is generally $19.00 - $23.75 per hour, DOE. Please note an offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate and the current salary level of individuals working at EAH in a similar role.

The Maintenance Technician I performs necessary and minor repairs and preventative maintenance on rental units as they become vacant. May also assist in Painting of Interior Units, Office Areas, Laundry Room and Common Area Maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Basic Plumbing including; Toilet, Faucet and minor Pipe Repair
  • Painting including; Preparation, Sanding and Color Matching
  • Electrical Repairs including; light switch, cords, ballasts and bulbs and circuit breakers
  • Lock Replacement/adjustment, bolt installation, window locks, latches and keys
  • Screen Door Repair and Replacement, Sheetrock repair when needed
  • Detailing Turnover Units, Completing within 5 days

Qualifications:

  • 1+ Year of Related Apartment Maintenance Experience
  • Knowledge and Skills in Plumbing, Electrical, and General Maintenance
  • CADL, Clean DMV and Reliable Transportation

Criminal Background Check Requirements:

EAH Housing conducts criminal background checks on all candidates who have received a conditional job offer. EAH Housing requires all candidates who have received a conditional job offer to submit to drug testing within 72 hours from acceptance of our job offer. EAH Housing does not test for marijuana/cannabis. Satisfactory completion of drug testing is a requirement of employment with EAH.
