Position: Logistics Distribution Manager

Location: Houston, TX

Pay: $95,000 to $105,000/year

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience working with TMS platforms and freight optimization tools.
  • Experience managing carrier operations in support of e-commerce fulfillment is required, particularly with parcel and last-mile delivery networks.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

Greene Resources is seeking a Logistics Distribution Manager to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

  • Manage daily transportation operations, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery of products to customers, distribution centers, or retail locations.
  • Select, negotiate with, and manage relationships with third-party carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
  • Monitor carrier performance and take corrective actions when KPIs (on-time delivery, cost-per-mile, damage rate, etc.) are not met.
  • Analyze shipping trends and freight costs; implement strategies to optimize distribution routes and reduce transportation expenses.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales) to ensure alignment of distribution activities with overall supply chain strategy.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Manage transportation-related documentation and ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing.
  • Use transportation management systems (TMS) and analytics tools to track shipments, resolve issues, and produce reports.
  • Support sustainability initiatives related to fuel efficiency and emissions reduction where applicable.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, intermodal, parcel).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with TMS systems.
  • Experience in Delivery Checkout Systems.
  • Certification in transportation or logistics (e.g., CTL, APICS, CLTD).
  • Budgeting P&L Statements.
