Description The Lead Carpet Cleaning Technician is responsible for overseeing the onsite operations of a carpet cleaning team and managing floor care projects. Lead Carpet Cleaning Tech will coordinate floor care scheduling, assign tasks, and ensure high-quality performance across all cleaning services, while managing customer expectations and ensuring operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Supervisory and Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of carpet cleaners to ensure high standards of performance. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for new and existing team members. Conduct performance evaluations, offering feedback and setting goals for individual and team growth. Delegate tasks to ensure efficient use of team resources and optimal job execution. Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices across all projects. Scheduling and Coordination of Floor Work: Schedule Floor Care Projects: Coordinate and schedule carpet and floor cleaning services, ensuring that all jobs are properly prioritized based on customer needs and availability of resources. Allocate Resources Efficiently: Determine the appropriate equipment, cleaning solutions, and staff for each floor care job, whether carpet cleaning or other types of flooring maintenance (e.g., tile, wood, or vinyl). Monitor Scheduling Conflicts: Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate urgent requests, weather delays, or other changes in job timelines. Coordinate with Other Departments: Work with customer service, sales, and operations teams to ensure that floor care projects are executed smoothly, and client expectations are met. Track Job Progress: Oversee floor care activities and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines and customer satisfaction. Hands-On Cleaning Duties: Carpet Cleaning: Perform carpet cleaning services (e.g., hot water extraction, steam cleaning, dry cleaning) for commercial clients, ensuring quality and care in every job. Quality Control: Inspect all completed work for quality, ensuring that all floors (carpet and non-carpet) meet company standards for cleanliness and customer satisfaction. Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction with services rendered. Provide recommendations to clients regarding floor care, maintenance schedules, and any additional services that may be beneficial. Resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly to maintain long-term relationships. Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets or exceeds company standards for cleanliness, appearance, and overall quality. Conduct on-site inspections of work performed by the team to guarantee that safety, cleaning, and maintenance protocols are adhered to. Review feedback from customers and use it as a basis for improving services and training. Equipment and Supplies Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance of all cleaning equipment and carpet van. Perform regular checks on the condition of carpet cleaning supplies (e.g., carpet cleaning chemicals, carpet wand, etc.), and ensure that inventory is kept at appropriate levels. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate any larger repairs or replacements to management. Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols for both carpet and floor care cleaning, ensuring that team members are using personal protective equipment (PPE) where necessary. Ensure that all cleaning chemicals and equipment are used in accordance with safety regulations, including proper storage and disposal. Maintain a clean and safe work environment on-site and in the team's workspaces. Position Requirements Experience: 3+ years of experience in carpet and floor care, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role. Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and team members. Technical Skills: Experience with a variety of carpet cleaning and floor care techniques and equipment, including but not limited to, steam cleaning, stripping, buffing, and waxing. Customer Service: Strong customer service skills, with the ability to resolve issues professionally and to enhance customer satisfaction. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, work on your feet for extended periods, and perform physical labor as needed. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in both cleaning services and customer interactions. Licensing/Certification: Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Certifications in carpet and floor care are preferred. Work Environment: Frequent travel to various job sites, mostly commercial properties. Flexibility required, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed, based on client scheduling requirements. If the carpet tech is not available to work, it is expected that the work still is completed. Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
