Job Description

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for an Interventional Radiologist to work at the Lexington VA Health Care System in Lexington, KY.

Job Summary:

Physician(s)’ care shall cover the range of Interventional Radiology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by: The American College of Radiology Guidelines for Radiology Practice by subspecialty, The American College of Radiology Guidelines for Radiology Practice by Organ or Body System, professional standards of the Joint Commission (TJC) and the standards of the American Hospital Association (AHA)

Duties:

• Shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics as documented by physical presence in the clinic

• Provide notification of test results for patients receiving care

• Shall provide consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for radiologic procedures so that the most expeditious and clinically appropriate work-up can be done.

• Determine the appropriate course of treatment and communicate in person or by phone with the referring clinicians

• Provide post-procedure evaluation and follow-up and clinical consultation regarding complications of interventional radiologic procedures

• Shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients

• Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients.

• Shall maintain appropriate productivity levels. Physician shall average 27 wRVU per day, or a total of 7,020 wRVU annually.

• Shall participate in peer reviews for approximately 4 hours per month.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified per the American Board of Radiology (

• Shall have a current, unrestricted license to practice as an Interventional Radiologist in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia

• BLS and ACLS (AHA Preferred)

Benefits: 1099

Pay: $250/hr + depending upon credentials and experience
