Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a well-established food manufacturing company in Keokuk, Iowa. Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician with a minimum of Apprentice 3 certification to join their maintenance team. This is a newly created position within their expanding operation, offering competitive compensation and growth potential.

💼 Position Overview: The Industrial Electrician will be based at the Keokuk, IA facility but responsible for electrical systems across all three client locations. This role requires hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, motor controls, and troubleshooting. The position reports to the Maintenance Lead and works as part of a collaborative 6-person maintenance team, plus an automation technician.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in industrial settings
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions to minimize downtime (over 50% of maintenance calls are electrical in nature)
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams for accurate installation and repairs
• Work with 480V and below equipment, control systems, motors, and other industrial machinery
• Collaborate with the dedicated automation technician on PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, Rockwell)
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies
• Upgrade and modify electrical systems to meet operational needs and improve efficiency
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response
• Support occasional travel to other facilities (10-20% travel to Bell, CA facility may be required)
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude for non-electrical maintenance tasks

🔧 Required Qualifications:

• Electrical Certification: Minimum Apprentice 3 level certification with verifiable hours (progression to Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred)
• Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician with 480V and below systems
• Experience with motor control, switchgear, and industrial electrical systems
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, and/or Rockwell)
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Proficiency in using electrical tools and testing equipment
• Familiarity with electrical safety codes, regulations, and LOTO procedures
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights (buildings, rafters)
• Physical stamina for lifting, climbing, and crawling as needed
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility for shift work (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) and emergency/on-call response

• Competitive hourly rate of $35-40/hour, with potential for higher compensation for exceptional candidates

🔄 Schedule:

• Primary shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• On-call rotation: One night per week, one weekend every fifth weekend

• Primary location: Keokuk, IA (main plant)
• Some travel to Bell, CA and St. Louis, MO facilities (travel requirement depends on candidate's qualifications)
