We are looking for a detail-oriented HR Compliance Specialist to join our team in Willoughby, Ohio. This Contract-to-Permanent position focuses on ensuring that HR practices align with legal regulations and internal policies, particularly within a manufacturing environment. The role requires expertise in HR compliance, auditing processes, and familiarity with labor laws.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive audits of HR practices, including hiring, onboarding, timekeeping, and employee termination procedures.
• Review and maintain compliance with I-9 documentation, personnel files, and training records.
• Ensure adherence to collective bargaining agreements and support grievance processes where applicable.
• Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures to align with legal standards and operational needs.
• Provide training to HR staff and management on compliance topics such as workplace safety, harassment prevention, and leave management.
• Monitor changes in labor laws and implement necessary updates to HR practices.
• Collaborate with legal and environmental health teams to ensure safety compliance within HR processes.
• Generate compliance reports, identify trends, and recommend improvements to mitigate risks.
• Support internal and external audits and lead remediation efforts when required.

• Proven experience in HR compliance within a manufacturing or similar environment.

• Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations, including wage and hour compliance.

• Familiarity with HRIS systems and other HR-related software.

• Expertise in onboarding, employee relations, and personnel file management.

• Ability to conduct audits and implement corrective actions effectively.

• Excellent communication skills for training and collaboration with various teams.

• Experience with HIPAA-regulated practices and maintaining confidentiality.

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
