PARALEGAL

Chubb’s White Plains House Counsel firm, Varvaro, Cotter, Bender & Walthall, is seeking a Paralegal.

The position is a 4/1 role, requiring work in the office 4 days per week.

Job Responsibilities

• Assisting attorneys in trial preparation
• Assisting attorneys with record preparation for appeals
• Communicating professionally and promptly with clients, claims representatives, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, and courts
• Preparing discovery demands and responses
• Gathering and organizing medical records and discovery documents
• Setting up independent medical examinations
• Assisting attorneys with motions, pleadings, and subpoenas

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have at least five years of litigation experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, with a solid understanding of New York personal injury litigation. Additionally, the candidate should possess:

• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in computer skills, including email, Word, and case management platforms
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $59,000 to $93,500, depending on skills and other factors. The position may also qualify for a discretionary annual incentive program.
