Position Summary

We are on the lookout for a detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our Banquets Team at the Steamboat Grand. If you’re ready to step into a management role and help execute unforgettable events, we want to hear from you!

Essential Duties

As an Assistant Manager, you will:

  • Function independently, ensuring every detail of an event is addressed.
  • Provide superior service to all guests, adhering to our Resort Etiquette Guidelines.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with the Banquet Manager to ensure readiness.
  • Plan and coordinate daily banquet operations, consulting with various departments as needed.
  • Supervise operations including setting tables, serving, and cleaning.
  • Monitor food and service quality to maintain high standards.
  • Collaborate with Catering and Sales to evaluate services and resolve issues.
  • Oversee guest counts and ensure accurate billing.
  • Host site tours and assist guests in venue selection.
  • Develop and implement training programs for banquet staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • 2 years of relevant work history or education.
  • An Associate's degree or equivalent experience in food service is a plus.
  • Prior management experience in a food and beverage venue is helpful.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Basic administrative and organizational skills.
  • Experience with food service administrative functions is preferred.

Compensation

The base hourly pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00 per hour plus gratuities. Actual pay may vary based on experience and other factors.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Clear communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work both indoor and outdoor events.

Working Conditions

Expect to work in varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels. This role may require flexibility and adaptability.
