Overview: Merrick & Company is seeking a GIS student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2025 at our Tucker, GA project office. The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2025. We will be accepting resumes for this opportunity from approximately September November 2024. What You'll Do: The Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) processing. The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of degree program Must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, or a similar major College courses in ESRI ArcGIS/ArcPro is required Knowledge and/or courses in GIS including: Data management GIS Cartographic design Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality. Must have a demonstrable good attendance record Must have a current instructor recommendation or reference Local candidates only Must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with basic operations in ESRI ArcGIS/ArcPro software including: Creation and editing of feature classes Attribute edits Labeling and annotation Projection and scale Basic cartographic methodologies Familiarity with ArcGIS Online, Survey 123, and Field Maps Perks: Professional Training and Skill Development.
