Position Type: Full-time/Exempt Work type: Hybrid General Company and Position Information: A well-established real estate investment firm is seeking a senior attorney to act as General Counsel and a trusted advisor to ownership. The company’s headquarters are located in Glendale, California. The majority of the company’s commercial and residential properties are located in Los Angeles County. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to evaluate complex issues, but will also be detail-oriented. The individual will have strong communication skills and judgment, capable of providing both practical business advice and legal analysis. The General Counsel drafts and negotiates transaction documents and manages deals from start to finish (this is a standalone position) across the full range of real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized self-starter, able to take ownership of multiple projects, with little guidance. In addition to extensive real estate transactional experience, the individual must have a broad range of skills, including entity formation and management, property management and operational best practices, land use, insurance, taxation and employment matters, among others.
