Entrusted Advisors has immediate opportunities for corporate counsel to support our clients via flexible engagements in the commercial energy trading arena. This is an exciting chance for attorneys with deep experience in energy commodities trading and structured energy transactions to support sophisticated in-house legal teams across the U.S. on a flexible secondment basis. We are currently growing our bench of attorneys who are available for full-time or part-time roles in a hybrid capacity in Houston, Texas.

Key Responsibilities Typical of Client Engagements:

• Electricity, natural gas, capacity, and emissions trading across RTO/ISO markets including ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, and ISO-NE
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including EEIs, NAESBs, ISDAs, PPAs, gas transportation, and environmental credit contracts
• Advising on compliance with FERC, CFTC, and public utility commission regulations
• Supporting structured energy deals, capacity auctions, and day-ahead/real-time market operations
• Coordinating with trading desks, origination teams, and regulatory stakeholders
• Supporting development and enforcement of internal trading policies and controls
• Collaborating with outside counsel on specialized regulatory or dispute matters

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 5+ years of direct in-house and/or secondment experience advising on energy commodities transactions and trading compliance for a utility, power producer, or energy trading company
• In-depth knowledge of RTO/ISO markets, power and gas trading, and commodity exchange frameworks
• Strong familiarity with federal and state regulatory regimes impacting trading activity (FERC, CFTC, PUCs)
• Exceptional contract negotiation and drafting skills
• Ability to work independently, provide practical business-aligned advice, and integrate seamlessly with client teams
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
