The Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients to and from the facility, including travel across nearby states (3-4 hours away, no overnight travel required). Additionally, the role involves maintaining company vehicles, managing fueling and maintenance schedules, and supporting operational needs by purchasing supplies for the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Transportation:
    • Transport patients safely and punctually to and from the facility.
    • Ensure a comfortable and supportive environment for patients during travel.
  • Vehicle Maintenance:
    • Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance with mechanics.
    • Perform basic vehicle checks, such as tire pressure, oil levels, and cleanliness.
    • Ensure vehicles are fueled and submit receipts to management.
  • Operational Support:
    • Purchase facility supplies as requested and submit receipts for purchases.
    • Maintain an organized log of all trips, mileage, and any operational expenses.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
    • Ensure patient and driver safety through proper use of seatbelts and secure transport practices.
    • Maintain an excellent driving record and comply with company policies for vehicle use.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a healthcare or related setting.
    • Familiarity with driving long distances across state lines is a plus.
  • Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
    • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Long periods of driving with intermittent stops.
  • Regular lifting of supplies or patient assistance may be required (up to 50 lbs).
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions during travel.
