Role: Distribution Center Manager

Reports to: Director, Distribution and Logistics

FLSA: Exempt

Location: Raleigh, NC

Why This Role Is Important at Genesee Scientific

The Distribution Center Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of distribution center operations, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of products while meeting company revenue goals. This role involves working closely with Operations leadership to drive strategic initiatives, improve operational efficiencies, and manage budgetary responsibilities. You will lead teams across multiple Distribution Centers, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain high standards of service and productivity. Responsible for designing staffing levels, managing performance and establishing KPI’s. In addition, the role will provide overall site leadership for the Raleigh location.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee daily distribution center operations, ensuring adherence to procedures, productivity standards, safety, quality, and operational goals
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse teams; provide training, tools, and support to effectively manage associates; conduct performance reviews and guide hiring, employee relations, and performance management
  • Establish KPIs, strategies, and reporting to monitor productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency, driving accountability and alignment across shifts and value streams
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy, proper storage, and efficient stock handling
  • Develop, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), and warehouse management system (WMS) best practices
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized facility by enforcing safety protocols, PPE use, preventative maintenance, and supporting Lean/6S initiatives
  • Manage budgets related to labor, packaging, maintenance, supplies, and vendor services
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and change management in partnership with the leadership team
  • Communicate daily goals, performance updates, and company initiatives to teams and stakeholders

Requirements:

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a managerial role within a warehouse setting
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a warehouse operations management or leadership position
  • Proven track record of developing and managing teams and achieving operational goals
  • Advanced proficiency with warehouse management systems, computers, and scanning equipment. Experience with FedEx and UPS shipping programs
  • Experience with budgeting, financial management, and revenue responsibility
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing warehouse operations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop team members
  • Demonstrated commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Word and Teams. The ability to lead and influence outside of direct reporting relationships Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%

Physical Requirements

Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be proficient to operate a forklift, clamp devise, pallet jack, overhead crane devise and maintain OSHA forklift certification
  • Comply with federal /state warehousing requirements
  • Complete daily inventory and inspection requirements
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and monitor security
  • Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Employees are required to wear steel-toed safety shoes and other personal protective equipment as needed
  • This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, which may be hot or cold at times depending on the season

Starting Salary: $90,000.00 (salary may increase based on experience)
