A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Designer. Position type: Full time Contract Duration: 6 months Location: Minneapolis Minnesota 55413 Shift Information – In-person at Winter Street Job Description:Designer is responsible primarily for the ideation, planning, and creation of new and Experiential, Photography/Scenic, and Retail Fixture assets. Role will be the subject matter expert on the designs, and design principles necessary to create them. Proficiency of hand sketching, 2D and 3D representation through design software and CAD packages is essential - hand and power tools along with general and novel fabrication and building principles is also required. In this role you will guide through documented plans and expertise to evaluate design requirements, material selection, and create a plan for the fabrication process ensuring the final products meet design specifications and standards. Must have the capacity to engage in any of the stages of the process of creation with comfort and competency. Qualifications and Education Requirements:4-year bachelor’s degree in an aesthetic or industrial design discipline or 2-4 year technical/engineering degree with equivalent experience 10+ years’ experience working in a design role overseeing projects leveraging digital and traditional fabrication equipment. Ability to maintain and troubleshoot designs as they relate to changing requirements Ability to work constructively under tight timelines Proficiency in CAD and CAM (Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360, a bonus) Understanding and/or ability to leverage simple programable electronics (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.) interfaces in conjuncture with motorized mechanisms and AV components to accomplish functional solutions. Ability to occasionally travel and provide on site/set support outside of normal working hours. Experience working in a prototyping operation with many one-of-a-kind requests. Experience working in a industry such as product design, theater, and art. Experience in digital fabrication equipment such as CNC, Laser cutting, and Plasma cutting. Preferred SkillsMembership to industry groups such as IDSA, ASME, IEEE Experience hosting Design Thinking, Kaizen, Ideation, or Brainstorming workshops.
