Bantam Communications is seeking an experienced independent copywriter to develop targeted multi-channel content in support of our community engagement and strategic communications campaigns. This contract engagement involves creating compelling written materials across print and digital channels, including long and short form copy ranging from FAQs and one-pagers to letters and radio/print advertising copy, media advisories, fact sheets, and op-eds; crafting tailored messaging addressed to a wide range of stakeholders; and delivering persuasive content to support our public affairs strategies, helping our clients and partners build consensus for project deployment.Contractors will work on a project-by-project basis, producing clearly defined deliverables such as comprehensive messaging copy, multi-channel communications content, and stakeholder engagement materials in support of our mission to accelerate the deployment of advanced energy infrastructure across the United States.Scope of Work & Services:Interpret creative briefs to develop concepts for execution with assigned brandsCollaborate with project teams from concept to delivery of final products like one-pagers, op-eds, and messaging guidelinesRevise copy based on internal and client feedbackReview provided materials and conduct research to understand the subject matter, the client's needs, and our target audiencesWork across multiple brand guidelines and keep track of client preferencesMinimum QualificationsExperience producing copy for print and digital channelsFamiliarity with common office software like the Microsoft Suite and Google WorkspaceExperience with both long and short form copy, from FAQs and one-pagers to letters and radio/print advertising copyFamiliarity with project management tools like Asana or MondayFamiliarity with AP styleExcellent grammar and ability to explain complex topics in an accessible wayPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with renewable energy, political, and advocacy voicesProofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guidesExperience with certain public relations tasks like media advisories, fact sheets, and op-edsHow to Apply:In addition to a resume and cover letter, please submit (either by including a link or directly attached to your cover letter) a portfolio of 3 or 4 short and/or long form writing and copy samples, ideally aligned with the scope of work described above.Additional DetailsContract Type: Independent Contractor (1099)Location: Remote, USACompensation: $45 to $50 per hour (depending on experience).This role is open to US-based independent contractors who are authorized to work in the United States.About Bantam CommunicationsBantam is a specialized public affairs firm accelerating the deployment of advanced energy infrastructure across the United States.We partner with developers, investors, coalitions, and mission-aligned philanthropic and non-profit institutions to navigate complex permitting environments, mobilize community support, and shape the policy and narrative conditions necessary for deployment success.Our work is grounded in the belief that building advanced energy requires not only technological innovation and capital investment, but public trust, political alignment, and social license.
