Civil Engineer

Senior Civil Engineer - Capital Projects  

Location: Vienna, VA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $135,000 - $160,000 (DOE)

 
About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support a major propellant production facility program and multiple upcoming capital projects. This role includes responsibilities in engineering planning, construction support, site development, documentation, proposal support, and cost estimating. It offers an opportunity to contribute to critical defense-related programs within a growing engineering environment.

 
Responsibilities:

• Lead civil engineering activities for large-scale facility development programs.
• Coordinate internal and external engineering resources.
• Track, document, and report project progress and requirements.
• Identify and evaluate potential production sites.
• Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and geotechnical or hydrology analyses.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Ensure designs meet safety, security, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, architects, project managers, subcontractors, and government stakeholders.
• Provide on-site construction support, including inspections and RFI responses.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Develop cost estimates and support project scheduling.
• Support proposal development and new business efforts with technical input.
  Qualifications:
  
   
• Bachelors degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience.
• 5+ years of construction or construction management experience.
• Experience analyzing building, environmental, and explosive site safety requirements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of DoD UFC, IBC, ASTM, AASHTO, OSHA, and EPA standards.
• Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in a technical discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Familiarity with ITAR, ATF, FDA, or similar regulatory frameworks.
