Role Overview

Sodexo is hiring a Child Nutrition General Manager 5 for Mount Vernon City School District in Mount Vernon, NY . The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the K-12 sector and a thorough understanding of USDA regulations and policies. We are looking for a self-starting leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, focused on boosting student participation and achieving financial goals for both the client and Sodexo. At Sodexo, we deliver food, nutrition, environmental and facilities management solutions to partnered K-12 schools. What You'll Do

  • have oversight of day-to-day operations, managing employees both on-site and remotely;
  • deliver high quality food service;
  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals;
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • develop strategic plans;

  • ensure Sodexo standards are met.

What You Bring

  • have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
  • have culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed;and/or
  • demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) The Market Connection (TMC) and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience.This does not apply to external candidates.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree, with academic major in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field

Minimum Management Experience - 3 years Minimum Functional Experience - 4 years of relevant school nutrition programs experience
