About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to take on a newly created strategic role that will be instrumental in shaping the future of the organization. The CIO will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for all information technology initiatives, ensuring that technology effectively supports the union's mission, operations, and member services. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of IT strategies, managing the digital infrastructure, and ensuring the security and integrity of sensitive data. The successful candidate will collaborate with union leadership to align technology solutions with organizational goals, drive digital transformation, and lead the IT team in delivering efficient, innovative, and secure systems. Additionally, the CIO will be accountable for IT budgeting, policy development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technological advancement within the union.
Applicants for the CIO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in information technology, with a strong background in senior leadership or management roles. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical expertise, strategic leadership ability, and a commitment to the values and integrity of the organization. Experience with technology planning, development, and implementation, particularly in environments with sensitive data and high-security needs, is essential. Familiarity with union operations, labor movement structures, or advocacy organizations is highly valued, and direct experience in this area is a strong advantage. The role requires a leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and a proven track record of building and leading diverse teams.
