Copper Component Assembler and Brazer

Location: Lexington, Virginia

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Copper Component Assembler and Brazer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and brazing copper components into coils using an oxygen-acetylene torch. You will interpret blueprints, prepare coil setups, and apply basic math skills to ensure precision and quality in every task.

• Assemble and braze copper components, including return bends and tube extensions.
• Utilize various brazing rods and follow coil specifications accurately.
• Prepare coils and perform brazing operations using an oxygen-acetylene torch.
• Set up and braze all coil types within the department.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Apply basic arithmetic to measure and verify dimensions.
• Monitor inventory levels of headers and manifold sub-assemblies.
• Assemble and braze headers and manifold components as required.

• Proven experience in brazing and welding techniques.
• Strong mechanical assembly skills.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Skilled in using a tape measure for accurate measurements.
• Experience brazing 180° and 360° joints with a braze torch.
• Ability to braze brass fittings to copper.
• Familiarity with brazing materials such as BCUP-5 rods and Stay-Silv brazing flux.

• Large, non-temperature-controlled plant setting.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (non-repetitive).
• Occasional stooping and physical activity required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.53 - $27.14/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
