Biometrics (Fingerprinting) Technician – On Call Work with the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) in Jacksonville, FL. Amentum provides all required job training. This position is an on‑call (casual) team member. Hiring hourly rate: $17.75 (hourly rate set by the Service Contract Act). Payment, benefits, and regulations are governed by the Department of Labor’s Service Contract Act (SCA). Minimum hourly rate, holiday and vacation leave benefits, and Health and Welfare (H&W) money are all regulated by the DOL. Shift: On‑Call employees must be available Monday‑Friday 7:45 am – 4:15 pm for substitute coverage as needed. Hours are not guaranteed; availability is required for the role. Primary Responsibilities Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking lawful immigration to the United States. Verify that all entrants to the ASC are approved applicants or visitors and assist the staff in enforcing rules and policies. Provide front‑line customer service as representatives of Amentum and the U.S. Government. Detailed Responsibilities Perform quality biometrics processing, capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within established processing times. Screen applicants to confirm valid appointment notice and identification. Use crowd‑control barriers to ensure a safe and organized entry. Visually inspect applicants and their belongings before entry. Conduct periodic interior and exterior facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor. Assist the Site Supervisor and/or Immigration Service Officer in calling local law enforcement or first responders when necessary. Maintain accurate administrative paperwork, track processing times, reconcile biometrics data, keep a visitor log, sign off on facility checks, and perform other administrative duties as needed. Required Qualifications U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization. High School Diploma or equivalent. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Ability to stand upright on one’s feet for scheduled shift duration, excluding meals and breaks. Ability to hold and grasp applicant’s hands to obtain quality fingerprints. Ability to work in a high‑paced environment with the public. Basic computer skills and typing ability. Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within sixty days. Desired Skills Ability to speak a foreign language. Understanding of H&W dollar allocation per eligible hour (inclusive of vacation and holiday up to 40 hrs/week).
