Job Description

Biometric (Fingerprinting) Technician - On Call Join Amentum to support the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) in administering the nation’s lawful immigration system. This on‑call position is located in Hartford, CT and involves biometrics registration, customer service, and ensuring compliance with all USCIS policies. Primary Responsibilities Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration, capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures. Screen applicants entering the ASC, confirming valid appointment notices and identification. Provide front‑line customer service as a representative of Amentum and the U.S. Government, maintaining a courteous and inviting demeanor. Safeguard areas with Personal Identifiable Information (PII), including applicant paperwork, biometric data, and electronic records. Assist in crowd control and facility checks, reporting concerns to the Site Supervisor. Support law enforcement or first responders when required. Complete administrative paperwork and maintain visitor logs and processing records. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required for facility credentials. A High School Diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to stand for the duration of scheduled shifts. Physical ability to hold applicants’ hands for fingerprint capture. Comfortable working in a high‑pace public environment. Basic computer skills and typing. Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within sixty days. Desired Skills Fluency in a foreign language. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate: $18.70 per hour (SCA regulated). Eligible for Health & Welfare dollars up to 40 hours per week. Employees accrue one (1) hour of sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked, up to fifty‑six (56) hours per year. On‑call employees may be eligible for pro‑rated holiday and paid time off benefits.
