OVERVIEWWhen it comes to craft cocktails, making everything from scratch is non-negotiable. We are looking for a Bar Prep to support our bar team and ensure they are set up for a successful service. This is an integral role that demands attention to detail, and a love of the craft. REPORTS TOGeneral ManagerSALARY + HOURS EXPECTATIONS$14-$17 an hour20-30 hours weeklyWeekday and weekend availability required RESPONSIBILITIESPreparing our house made syrups, tinctures, shrubs, batches and juices.Ensure all pars are met and the service team has what they need for a successful service.Work in tandem with the bartenders and barbacks to ensure there is not excessive waste in the bar program.Be an essential part of the behind-the-scenes magic.A great starting point for those looking to grow in the hospitality industry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCarry out all tasks with an attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety while maintaining an enjoyable and clean environment for guests and team.Ability to multitask (ie converse with guests while making drinks)Work efficiently and maintain a reasonable pace of service at all times.Engage with all guests in a timely, professional and friendly manner.Work to uphold and enforce all necessary legal statutes at all times.Serve safely and appropriately any alcohol by monitoring intake and communicating with staff and management when there are issues or needs.Fill in for absent staff as needed, assist with special events as needed.Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.Ability to honor your schedule, show up on time and clock in and out, put in requests for time off with appropriate notice.Must be able to follow written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as nonverbal communications in a fast paced environment. Ability to work independently and efficiently with attention to detail.Previous bar prep experience strongly preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to handle physical workload, including bending, stooping, and lifting for up to 75% of your scheduled shift.Ability to stand for 100% of your scheduled shift.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, maneuver in narrow hallways, up and down small stairways and behind the bar. WORK ENVIRONMENTPhysically strenuous, standing, lifting, kneeling, stooping, walking and stair climbing throughout the entire shift. Loud environment with low lighting in some areas and bright lights in others. No driving required.Why work with us...Urban Cowboy is recognized as one of the leading design hotels and cocktail bars in the world, with locations in Brooklyn, Nashville, The Catskills, and Denver.
