Anesthesia Technician – Surgery Room

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Job Type: Contract (COVID Rate)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

About the Facility

228-bed hospital and Level IV Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center. The Surgery Room averages 20–23 cases per day across multiple specialties. This is a teaching facility with a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Technician to support surgical procedures at Sinai’s Surgery Room. The Anesthesia Tech will work alongside anesthesiologists, nurses, and surgical staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesiologists with equipment setup and monitoring during surgical procedures.
• Support additional areas including Labor & Delivery, Interventional Radiology, and inpatient procedures requiring general anesthesia.
• Perform equipment checks, troubleshoot issues, and prepare anesthesia supplies.
• Provide support in difficult IV access and emergency response situations.
• Rotate on-call responsibilities (weeknights, weekends, and holidays).

Work Schedule

• Core Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• On-Call:
• Weeknights: ~1 per week
• Weekends: ~1 every 5 weeks
• Holidays: Shared rotation among staff

Must Have Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Tech program
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2–3 years of Anesthesia Tech/OR experience
• Experience in L&D, IR, GI procedures
• EPIC charting experience
• Robotic surgery support (Da Vinci XI, Stryker Mako)

Support & Orientation

• Strong interdisciplinary team with supportive leadership
• 3–5 days of orientation with preceptor
• Scrubs provided
• Free designated parking

Patient Types / Case Mix

• Top 3: Orthopedics, GYN, General
• Ortho (total joints, sports medicine, spine procedures)
• General Surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, bariatrics)
• GYN (hysterectomy, ruptured ectopic, D&C, hysteroscopy)
• Plastics, Urology, Bariatrics (robotic/laparoscopic)
• Robotic: Da Vinci XI and Stryker Mako (knee replacements)
• Note: No neuro or complex spine cases
