Job Description

Activities of the corporate accounting function include accounts receivable processing, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate month-end closing procedures for financial statement preparation and analysis. Responsible for overseeing the efficient processing of accounting-related information according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards. Exempt associates are expected to work as much of each workday as necessary to complete their job responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree in accounting or finance required; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience in multi-unit real estate/hospitality accounting environment is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (mid-level preferred).
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • Clear understanding of General Ledger concepts.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and take a creative approach to problem resolution.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain professional relationships and promote open communication with general managers, property accountants/controllers, employees, and other departments.
  • Calculate and review management and other fee accounts. Review management and service agreements to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Process management fee invoices and miscellaneous receivables from hotels (e.g., special billings, new projects, portfolios) promptly to accelerate receivables turnover.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor and follow up on aged accounts receivable, assessing collectability to inform Treasury cash management.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly consolidated GAAP financial statements and supporting schedules for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in preparing audit work papers and respond to auditor inquiries accurately and timely.
  • Maintain year-end audit packages throughout the year.
  • Communicate regularly with Treasury regarding current, budgeted, and forecasted accounts receivable.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure timely processing of receivables and payables (Invoices, Due-To/From, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Central Accounting Staff to ensure accurate accounting of Due To/From accounts.
  • Perform special projects or other tasks as assigned, including requests from Treasury.
  • Prepare variance analyses to support financial statement understanding.
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for corporate activities.
  • Follow document management and retention policies.
  • Calculate and post monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries as needed.
  • Perform monthly closing duties as required.
